Don't let hot weather became an instant hair wrecker. Ponytails are a great off-the-neck hair option for any seasons, but don't feel it's your only choice to battle Summer heat, humidity, frizz and fly-a-ways. Shore up summer hairstyles by starting at the roots. Afterall, roots are the foundation of all strands. The stronger and higher the roots pop out from the scalp, the thicker and fuller strands will appear. Strong and full hair is less likely to wilt. To make your roots stand at attention consider the following tips: 1. Shampoo hair with products designed for your hair type, texture and current condition. If hair is naturally thin, fine or tends to have flat roots, use a volume enhancing shampoo system that combines fattening shampoo formulas with a volume enhancing rinse out conditioner. 2. To build in maximum root oomp, shampoo with lukewarm or cool water. 3. Only use a rinse out conditioner if hair is damaged and needs smoothing. 4. Finish with a cool water rinse to plump up roots and close off cuticle. 5. Towel blot to remove excess drippage. 6. Massage a volumizing product like PhytoVolume into the roots to encourage fullness. 7. Blow dry roots first. 8. Direct air flow from the blow dryer down the shaft (using a concentrator tools from the ends to the roots to encourage maximum fullness. 9. Blow dry hair bent over at the waist for maximum fullness. 10. When hair is completely dry, spray well with moisture blocking sprays to block humidity induced frizz and wilting. Of course if all fails, reach for a cute beach hat or multi-colored Scunchie elastics and create an array of Zulu notes, mini ponies or braids. For more Summer Hair Care Tips visit HairBoutique.com.
