Sex & City Beauty, Fashion & Gossip Triggers Media Buzz

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, "Sex and the City" (SATC), had its world premiere Monday, May 13th in London, of all places, and fashionistas were not disappointed with the stir caused by Sarah Jessica Parker's (SJP) wild headgear decorated with flowers - key fashion trend for the movie - and lime green short sassy gown. 

You can relax, although Sarah Jessica's (SJP) entire attire was lime green, including her flower encrusted hat, her shoes were not .

The actual movie opens in theaters in the US on May 30th and is expected to be a huge hit.  The return of the fearless foursome, Carrie, Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha (Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall) has triggered instant controversy, endless gossip and lots of beauty and fashion buzz.

First - the controversy.  Why was the movie premiere planned for London rather the city where it all took place - New York?  Lots of theories were floated but will anyone ever really know the answer?  Probably not.

Regardless of the locational controversy, the world premiere took place in London and eventually the premieres will take place in various cities in the United States.  

Next - the gossip.  Supposedly the four women fought during the entire filming of the movie.  Well, it depends on which gossip you believe.  After all, reports were rampant that the movie took four years to be made since the series ended due to the higher payday demands of Kim Cattrall aka Samantha. As well as other issues involving which studio was willing to produce it as well as production problems.

Some say the women got along great, others said no.  Regardless, as part of the production team, Sarah Jessica Parker aka SJP, got a bigger paycheck than any of the other actresses. 

Other gossip included the fact that while most of the original characters were invited back, besides the four main women, others were not and there were hard feelings. 

Do any of the main characters die during the movie?  According to Kristin Davis - absolutely not.  However, sneak peeks of the movie show Kristen's character Charlotte heavy with child.  Also, it is widely believed that Carrie and Big either marry or attempt to marry inspire of their rollercoaster relationship.

As far as beauty and fashion, the PR firms are already out in force sharing beauty tips of the fabulous stars.  And it is only beginning.

Stepping back to fashion, the SATC show was famous for its fashions and often triggered new trends from the show.  Carrie was famous for her bold display of flowers worn in her hair, on her gowns and even on her shoes.  Timing couldn't be better since flowers are the hottest new trend for hair, clothing and accerssories.  At the world premiere Carrie's headgear consisted of a large lime green rose decorated with a butterfly and other floral pieces mounted on a small hat worn at an angle.  Her naturally curly hair was worn down in loose waves.

The other three SATC "girls" were perfectly coiffed, attired and looked quite stunning.  Kim Catrall wore her blonde hair up but Kristen Davis let her luscious long brunette locks cascade down past her shoulders and wore a stunning red gown.  Her skin looked stunning.
